Overview

Eduardo Silva, the creator of Fluent Bit, provides an overview of the philosophy behind the Fluent ecosystem along with a bit of history about Fluent Bit and where it is heading.

Fluent Bit emerged from the Fluentd project to meet the new challenges presented by containers and the explosion of microservices. Along the way, Fluent Bit has evolved from a logging processor and forwarder into the Swiss  Army Knife of observability. The Fluent Ecosystem has embraced OpenMetrics and OpenTelemetry, allowing Fluent Bit to also process metrics and, soon, traces.

Silva also discusses ongoing efforts to improve performance and security.
